If I owned a theme park and threw a party there for a bunch of different religious figures, and then when you asked me if I was going to honor this particular religious figure and I said “no, I don’t throw parties for religious figures” you’d wonder what was going on. that’s pretty much the situation here.

@eggs764 it’s a little more complicated than that. read what she actually wrote in her diaries to get the full story. but again you’re looking at it from the point of view that religion isn’t true, and is only a waste of time (at best) or harmful (at worst). from a religious point of view she was doing the right thing. the Empire State Building is a private thing, but they have honored many people in the past including political and religious figures so it’s odd.

The reason why some people don’t like mother teresa is because her goal in life wasn’t to actually help the poor, just minister to the poor.
On a side note, why would the Catholic League want to honor mother teresa anyway? Didn’t she become an atheist toward the end of her life?

@Sykes90 point is if you honor the other people the empire state building honored, it’s hypocritical to say you shouldn’t honor mother teresa. I like how you compare religious “manipulation” to targeting and murdering people en masse. by that logic, we can compare EVERYONE (including you, since you “manipulate” people with your opinion and cause “suffering” through starting arguments and giving people a headache with your posts), hence we should “honor” you next to Osama.
